Mission Reports
This archive catalogues 332 mission reports covering 306th Bomb Group operations from Thurleigh, England, between October 1942 and April 1945. That figure counts the reports held in the collection, not the number of missions the Group flew. Each entry below links to the original archival PDF.
About these reports
A mission report may include formation sheets, the weather and intelligence information used in briefings, eyewitness accounts of enemy fighters and flak, and sightings of aircraft losses and parachutes in the immediate aftermath of an attack.
Coverage is uneven. What one report records in detail, another may leave out entirely, and the amount of information varies a great deal from mission to mission. Even so, the mission report remains the best single source on a given mission, the aircraft that flew it, and the men aboard them.
